What is TapText.
A plain-English explainer of what TapText does, who it's for, and why it exists.
The short version
TapText is a "Text Us" widget that sits on your website. A visitor taps it, types their name and a message, and it lands on your phone as an SMS, from your own Australian mobile number. You reply from your phone like you would to anyone else.
That's it. No app for them to download. No live-chat seat to staff. No corporate-sounding bot on the other end.
Who it's for
We built TapText for Australian small businesses where the owner runs the show: tradies, mobile mechanics, hair and beauty operators, locksmiths, mobile detailers, photographers, after-hours plumbers. People who can't sit at a desk waiting for chat windows to ping.
If your day looks like "on the tools 'til 5, return calls in the arvo, miss half of them anyway," this was built for you.
Why we built it
We watched the big platforms charge $500 to $700 a month for what amounted to a button on a website that sends a text message. So we built our own. From $54 a month inc GST.
What you get
- A widget on your website (one line of code)
- Your own dedicated AU mobile number
- Inbound and outbound SMS through that number
- Auto-replies, business hours, missed-call recovery (on Build and Boost)
- A simple inbox if you want to reply from desktop
Plans at a glance
All prices AUD, inclusive of GST.

What you don't get
We're upfront: TapText is not a CRM, not a marketing automation platform, not an AI agent that "handles enquiries for you." It's a fast, cheap way to give website visitors a button they actually want to push.
