Adding team members.
Invite a partner, 2IC, or office manager to share the inbox. Roles, plan limits, and how to remove access.
Plan limits
Team members are included on Build and Boost plans:
- Base. 1 user (the owner). No team members.
- Build. Owner plus up to 2 team members.
- Boost. Owner plus up to 5 team members.
If you need more seats than your plan allows, upgrade. See Upgrading or downgrading your plan.
Roles
Two roles:
Owner
The account creator. Full access. Can change billing, change plans, cancel, add and remove team members. Each account has exactly one owner.
Team member
Can read and reply to conversations, manage tags, edit auto-replies, edit business hours, edit appearance. Cannot change billing, change plans, cancel, or invite other team members.
If you need to make a team member the owner (e.g. handing the business over), email hello@taptext.com.au. We do this manually after confirming with both parties.
Adding a team member
- Go to Settings, Team.
- Click + Invite team member.
- Type their email.
- Click Send invite.
They'll get an email with a link. The link expires in 7 days. If they don't accept in that window, you'll need to resend.
What they see when they accept
The invite link drops them into a signup screen pre-filled with the invited email. They set a password, verify their mobile (same flow as a new account), and land in your dashboard with team-member access.
Removing a team member
Settings, Team, click the trash icon next to their name. Confirm. Their access is revoked immediately. They can't log in, but they don't get an email about it (so let them know separately).
Downgrade and team members
If you downgrade from Boost to Build, or from Build to Base, and you had more team members than the new plan allows, the extras get suspended (not deleted). Their access is paused. Conversation history they were part of stays in your inbox.
If you upgrade again later, suspended team members are reactivated automatically.
Two-factor authentication for team accounts
Two-factor (TOTP-based) is available for any account, owner or team member. We recommend it for owners. Set it up in Settings, Account security.
Can two people reply at the same time
Yes. The inbox is shared. If two team members are typing in the same conversation, you'll see a small "X is also replying" indicator. The owner of a conversation isn't enforced; whoever sends first, sends.
